PMH webinars

The network runs fortnightly webinars to support the system through the COVID-19 pandemic. You can watch these previous webinars here.

The Bias Trap – A Way Forward

This training documentary explores race inequalities within the NHS maternity system. It uncovers the stories behind the MBRRACE report figures and looks for answers from leading race and diversity health professionals and campaigners.

Midwives and mothers talk frankly about the issues and how individuals can make a difference to create a positive impact on race inequality outcomes for mothers and within maternity teams.

The South East Perinatal Mental Health team is proud to present The Bias Trap – A Way Forward:

What is C-PTSD?

Sometimes known as personality disorder, C-PTSD stands for Complex post-traumatic stress disorder. It has been known for a long time that various forms of trauma, abuse, neglect or severe ongoing stress in childhood (such as bullying at school) leads to people developing patterns of emotions, thinking and behaviour which can make their lives very difficult and unhappy. Living with C-PTSD can be challenging, and having a baby makes things more difficult. Below you can watch this trailer to our specially commissioned film, which you can view in full here.

WebBeds

The network set up and runs the WebBeds system, which shows the availability of mother and baby unit beds across England, as well as all the contact details for perinatal mental health community teams. You can read more about how we developed the WebBeds project here.

Take a look at the resource for yourself at the WebBeds site here.
