Dr Rachel Davies and Dr Hannah Moncad, Principal Clinical Psychologists at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, run an innovative weekly webinar service to maternity staff, dedicated to tackling the challenges of providing a frontline service during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since September 2019, Rachel and Hannah have been developing a new Maternity Psychology Service which offers support to women with birth trauma and antenatal anxiety, as well as providing supervision for specific specialist staff working within Maternity Services across SHIP. However, as the Covid-19 crisis developed, it was recognised that this could be a potentially anxiety provoking and stressful time for NHS maternity staff working on the frontline. Therefore, Rachel and Hannah looked at ways to provide some psychological support to maternity staff.
Rachel and Hannah have been working alongside mental health specialist midwives to run a weekly webinar offering support for maternity staff across our region.
