“I am delighted to announce the launch of a new resource pack for healthcare professionals and equality leads working on vaccination programmes, now and in the future,” says Shahana Ramsden, Director of Vaccination Workforce and Vaccine Equalities Lead for NHS England and Improvement South East.
“Learning from our Community: Equality stories from the Covid-19 vaccination programme is a collaboration across the six healthcare systems that make up the South East of England. We have gathered together highlights and case studies from many examples of good practice, to showcase instances where our colleagues delivering vaccinations have broken down barriers and gone the extra mile to ensure everyone can get vaccinated against Covid-19.
“To celebrate 12 months of the Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, we are telling the stories from behind the scenes that have made the vaccination programme a success. Our staff have faced up circumstances that have at times been challenging. As front-line professionals and experts in the design and delivery of vaccination services, our teams have drawn on their own strength and diversity, utilising great skill and expertise to provide appropriate and effective support to diverse groups and vulnerable individuals. We are proud to shine a light on the imagination, problem solving ability, and compassion demonstrated by our NHS and partners.
“I invite you to explore this pack and share it onwards as a resource – a source of inspiration, information and above all a celebration of the positive difference that a robust equality approach can make to improving vaccination uptake.”
