ReadyforPregnancy project presented at national PHE webinar

ReadyforPregnancy

Sarah Fishburn, Quality Improvement Manager for South East Maternity Clinical Delivery and Networks this week presented our ReadyforPregnancy campaign as an example of good practice at a Public Health England national webinar on preconception health.

There were three other projects presented at the webinar, which was attended by over 150 people, and a lively Questions and Answers session followed, where there was lots of interest in the project. Sarah presented alongside Steve Hubbard, Advertising and Marketing Manager at NHS Creative, who supported the delivery of the social media campaign.

You can download the presentation slidedeck, and listen to a recording of the webinar here.

#ReadyforPregnancy is a 12-month social media campaign, launched by NHS South East Clinical Delivery and Networks in June 2020, in partnership with six Local Maternity and Neonatal Systems across the South East. Jointly funded by each partner, the campaign supports National Maternity Transformation Programme goals to reduce stillbirth and neonatal and maternal deaths.

Designed with Local Maternity Systems and Maternity Voices Partnerships, monthly topics helped women and their partners get #ReadyforPregnancy. Engaging leaflets using diverse images were developed in 10 languages and easy read version as well as a video with subtitles and British Sign Language translation were co-designed to reach those with learning disabilities, gypsy, Roma and traveller communities, those who may not use social media, and those whose first language is not English.

The aim was to make the campaign truly accessible to help to plan a healthy pregnancy. Over 70 organisations posted material directly from their social media making this a true partnership project.
