Tahira Aslam

Clinical Delivery Support Manager

What relevant experience do you have to perform your current role?

I started my NHS England & Improvement career in 2017 as part of an End of Life Team in the Thames Valley Clinical Networks. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work in a few different teams within NHS England & Improvement. Prior to this I had spent a few years studying Psychology so when the opportunity to work within the Mental Health Team arose I felt it was the perfect full circle moment. I am passionate about mental health and by extension providing high quality of mental health support to our population.

What excites you about working at South East Mental Health Team?

What excites me about working in the South East Mental Health Team is coming together and working collaboratively with very highly skilled individuals. It has been lovely getting to know my colleagues but also in knowing that we are all working towards a common goal.

What difference are you making to improve the care and health outcomes of patients or members of the public?

I am currently working in a few different areas within the team. My programme/project work include Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and Psychological Therapies for people with Serious Mental Health Problems (PT-SMHP). Both programmes allow me to work with commissioners and providers in improving the mental health care we provide as well as aligning our priorities to the 10 year Long Term Plan. I am also working alongside colleagues in the Business Support Team and a part of the Team Development sub-group. The Team Development sub-group looks at ways to help and support staff wellbeing within the team.
