Dr Chimwemwe Kalumbi

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr Kalumbi is a highly experienced consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with over two decades dedicated to women’s health in both Sub-Saharan Africa and the United Kingdom. She is an Expert reference group member for the South East, NHS England regional Maternity and Neonatal System.  She  Currently based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, she leads the Early Pregnancy Unit and manages the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic. Dr Kalumbi earned her MD in the field of  miscarriage from the University of Liverpool, underscoring her expertise in this critical area.

Beyond her clinical responsibilities, she actively contributes to the medical community as a council member for the RCOG in the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex Region and serves as the vice chair of NICE’s Women’s and Reproductive Health Suite Committee. As a member of the British Intrapartum Care Society, she represented the South East for three years and played a vital role in establishing the Surrey Heartland LMNS Quality and Safety forum, where she was the clinical lead for quality and safety from 2018 to March 2024.

Dr Kalumbi is passionate about advancing global women’s health, educating ethnic minority and faith communities on health issues, and providing mentorship to the next generation of healthcare professionals.
