Proud to Support Children’s Mental Health Week

Proud to support CMHW

This week (7 – 13 February 2022) is Children’s Mental Health Week, and it couldn’t be a more important time for us to think about the wellbeing of our children and young people.

“It hasn’t been easy living through the COVID-19 pandemic for families; with social restrictions, loss, financial worries and uncertainty. This has had an impact on children and young people as well parents and carers,” says Professor Prathiba Chitsabesan, Associate Clinical Director for Children and Young People’s Mental Health, NHS England and NHS Improvement.

“As restrictions eased, some children have struggled with the increased expectations and demands placed on them, for example socially and academically. They may be worried about managing school work, sustaining friendships or uncertainty about the impact of future restrictions, including on exams.”

“We need to make sure we support our children and young people and ensure they get the help they need. This week, I am sharing my updated practical guidance to both parents and carers and also directly to young people. This includes signs to look out for, what to do, who to speak to and also links to great resources like Better Health: Every Mind Matters.”
